AUCKLAND TROTTING CLUB’S SUMMER MEETING.

DECEMBER 29 and 31, and JANUARY 7. One of the most enjoyable events of the Christmas holidays is the Summer Carnival of the Auckland Trotting Club, which will commence next Tuesday, December 27, be continued on Saturday, December 31, and be concluded on Saturday, January 7. The meeting is always a most interesting one, because it affords lovers of the trotting horse an opportunity of seeing the best of the local brigade competing against many visiting horses from the South and elsewhere. This year’s fixture will prove no exception to the rule, for some exceptionally good sport may be confidently expected. Mr Mark and his committee are making very complete arrangements to deal with a heavy influx of visitors, who are certain to visit Alexandra Park, and there are indications that the meeting will, in the event of fine weather, prove one of the most successful the club has ever experienced. As the acceptances for the trotting events do not close till to-morrow evening, and for the pony events on Monday evening, it is impossible to attempt to forecast the results. The handicaps for the various races are as follows :—
