The putting competition in connection with the championship tournament of the Auckland Ladies’ Golf Club took place on the links at One Tree Hill, on Friday. There were thirty-three entries, the conditions from one ball from three distances. The winnter proved to be .Miss M. Cotter, who holed the three distances in five strokes. Miss C. Draper, Miss Barstow, Miss B. Stevenson, Miss Gillies, Mrs W. B. Colbeck, and Miss C. o‘ark tied for second place with six strokes. The playoff for second place resulted in a win for Miss Gillies. The tournament prizes were afterwards presented at the clubhouse by Lady Ranfurly, these going as follow Auckland Championship (trophy presented by Auckland Golf Club) : Won by Miss Lewis, with Miss Gillies as runnerup. Handicap Foursome Competition (president’s prize) : Mr W. E. Bloomfield and Miss Lewis, 1; Miss B. Bierce and M.ss Torrance, 2. Handicap Medal Competition : Miss Buckland, 1 ; Miss M. Cotter, 2. Mr A. Hanna has given prizes for competition on the following terms -flatch play, 18 holes, under Handicap Players will be divided into >wo c’asses. tiz., those having handicaps of under 12 and those with handicaps of 12 or over. A fortnight wi‘l be allowed players for completion of each round. Entries close next Saturday at five p.m. at the clubhouse, when the draw will take place. Mr A. E. Hall, 106—12—94; Dr. Hope Lewis, 110—13 —97 ; E. Turner, 110 —12—98 ; the Rev. C. Tisdall, 120—22 — 98 ; R. Horton, 118 —18—100 ; E. W. Payton, 115—14—101 ; H. Horton, 134 —30— 104 ; C. R. Pollen, 121 —12 —109 ; J. J. Rutherford, 134 —22—112. The match, which is one of thirty-six holes, and will be determibed by the lowest aggregate score, is to be completed on Saturday s next.
