EDEN AND EPSOM LACROSSE CLUB. Th© first annual meeting of the Eden and Epsom Lacrosse Club was held during the week at the Mount Eden Bowling Club's pavilion. There was a good attendance. The annual report, submit ted by Mr W. Owen, stated that a number of new players had 'joined the ranks of the dab. The club had acted as run-ner-up in the championship competition,

and had on one occasion defeated the Grafton Club, who were ultimate the winners of the competition. The thanks of the club were due to Mr E. D. O’Rorke for the use of his paddock, and to Mr B. J. Esiam for his efforts in the interests' of the club. The financial statement showed a credit balance of £2 11s 9d on the year’s operations. Both reports were adopted, and last year’s officers were reelected. • • • • The annual meeting of the City Lacrosse Club was held on Friday evening. Mr Eagleton presided. The report of the secretary and treasurer (Mr D. L. Gold- 1 water), which was read adopted, stated that there was a small credit balance to the club’s account. The club were not disgraced by the positions held by them in both the senior and junior divisions in the finals in last season’s championship. They might congratulate themselves upon having a strong membership, which it was hoped would be augmented during the coming season. The annual meeting of the New Zealand Lacrosse Association was held during the week in) the Amateur Sports Club rooms;. There was a large attendance of delegates, and Mr R. McVeagh presided. The annual report and statement of accounts for the past season congratulated the Association on the continued advancement of the game. A special feature had been the inauguration of a junior competition, which, though managed with great difficulty, was brought, to a fairly successful issue, and will form a nursery from which the senior players will draw in the future. Theseason opened with the usual preliminary short-spell tournament, which was won, after a great competition, by the Grafton Club, this club also winning the championship for the season, consisting of two rounds, after being once defeated by the Eden and Epsom Club, which occupied the position of runner-up. The balance-sheet showed a cash balance of £9 Os 2d, and the liability was shown to be nil. Both report and balancc7sheet were adopted. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows : —Patron, the Earl of Ranfurly ; president, Mr A. Kidd., M.H.R. ; vice-presidents, Messts A. Myers, P. M. Thomson, J. H. Witheford, M.H.R., A. Kohn, R. McVeagh, W. B. Eyre. T. Peacock, F. E. Baume, M.H.R., the Hon. E. Mitchelson. the Rev. Beatty, Dr. King,

and Dr. Maitland ; council, Messrs Ashton, H. Walton, Blackler, Ward and Burke ; secretary, Mr Robert Hay ; treasurer, Mr M. Hicks ; auditors, Messrs Nolan and Noton. Last year’s consul® were re-elected. A vote of thanks was accorded to the retiring secretary (Mr Stew-; art), and retiring treasurer (Mr Noton).
