WESTMINSTER ABBEY GLEE AND CONCERT PARTY. The Westerminster Abbey Glee and Concert Party, which will be at Abbott’s Opera House, on April 6,7, and 8, present a programme that is as delightful as it is unique. It will revive the ancient glees, madrigals, and humourous catches, so popular in olden times, as well as a selection of the National ballads of England, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales. An essential feature of the programmes will be a humorous musical svetch by Mr Dudley Causton, entitled “ The Musical Village,” as given before Their Majesties the King and Queen, the Emperor of Germany, the King of Greece, etc., whilst novelties of great interest will be the soprano voices of the boys, and a male alto solo by Mr.

Percy Coward, who, while at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, was the favourite Alto Soloist of our late Queen. Mr. Branscombe first visited America at the time of the closing of Westminster Abbey for the coronation repairs. They returned to England on June 7th, after having awakened in Canada tremendous enthusiasm. Three days after the crowning of Edward VII., the present party again came to Canada, but on this occasion their previous success had extended into the United States, and on their return they were besieged with inquiries from all the principal cities of the Union, asking for dates. Only a limited number could be filled, as previous arrangements had been made for a complete tour of Canada. At the cor pletion of 180 concerts the party found their bookings brought them to San Francisco, and it was then decided to make a New Zealand and Australian tour. The Party intend to take in all the principal towns and cities in Australia, New Zealand and Tasmania, and expect to extend their tour up to the end of August. The opening concert will be given at the Opera House, on Monday next, for which I predict a bumper house.
