Among our illustrations in this week s issue appears a picture of the two crack pace-followers, Rohl and Dickentmann, together with their pacing teams. the riding of these two visiting Germans has caused quite a furore in Melbourne, where great crowds have flocked to see them. * * * * A charming picture of an Up-thc-Thames regatta, in the Old Country is shown, which may revive many pleasant recollec tions among certain of our readers. * * * ... An excellent portrait appears of Wairiki, the Derby and Summer Cup winner with Gainsford, who has so often piloted him to victory, in the saddle. >o f Mr Bradley, the owner, and Mr McHugh, th trainer, are also given.

A very good likeness is shown of King Log, who scored so easily at the Auckland R.C. Summer Meeting, and who may further distinguish himself in Wellington to-day. Mr Friedlander’s smart filly, Kamo, in also portrayed.

Among our dramatic illustrations is one of Mr. Fred Leslie, a member of Mr. J. C. Williamson’s Musical Comedy Co., who so successfully took the part of Blinky Bill in the recent production of the Belle of New York. Nr. Mr. Chas. De Chateau is one of the prominent members of Miss Fitzmaurice Gill’s Dramatic Co., which is billed to appear at the Opera House, on Saturday next, for an extended season.

Much has been said in favor of the experiment now being tried by the Australian Jockey Club in appointing Stipendiary Stewards, so that portraits of the three gentlemen now acting should prove of interest.
