RULES AND REGULATIONS. To which the attention of Persons Entering Horses is Particularly Requested. No entry will be received for any of the racesVexcept on this condition: That all disputes, claims and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or those whom they may appoint. Their decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of this programme shall be final. Any Jockey riding except in the colours entered will be fined 3 sovs. - ... , ' When two or more horses start, the property of the same owner, a distinguishing colour must be declared on entry day and worn. Any person neglecting this Rule to be find 2 sovs. No nomination or acceptance will be received on any pretence whatever after the hour named, or without being accompanied by the necessary amount in cash. The attention of owners is particularly called to this Regulation. This Rule will not apply to owners who have previous arrangements with the Committee. No Owner will be permitted to use the registered colours of another owner without special permission. All persons intending to withdraw horses are required to give notice to that effect to the Secretary or Clerk of the Scales one half hour before the official time of starting. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this Rule shall pay a fine not exceeding 5 sovs to the Race Fund. All entries to be sealed and addressed to the Secretary, Devonport, or at Durham-street, Auckland, with the name, age at time of entry, pedigree, and in case of handicaps where horses'have not previously started on the Takapuna course, performances of the horse, name of the owner, and colours of the rider. _ Any person failing to declare his colours at time of entry will be fined 2 sovs, unless the colours of the owner of the horse are duly registered. Owners are responsible for all penalties and allowIn all cases where penalties have to be earned for winning, it shall be the duty of the owner, trainer or jockey to notify the same to the Secretary, where possible, the evening before the race, or in any case half-an-hour prior to the start. Any person neglecting to comply with this Rule shall pay a fine, to be imposed by the Stewards, not exceeding 5 sovs. . Prior to any race the Stewards may order a parade m front of the stand. Any horse absent from such parade without the permission of the Stewards will be fined 2 sovs. All races to be run under the Rules of Racing. Entries by telegram must be confirmed in writing at the earliest possible opportunity. Stakes paid in full. Telegraph Office at Devonport closes at 5 p.m. Telegraph Office open at Racecourse to 5 p.m. race days.
