ELLERSLIE.

October 6. ’ Saturday morning was fine, and a good number of horses made their appearance on the course early. Among the first to be worked were Motor and Ambition, who did steady, slow work'. Ruth and Rosiphele also were exercised on the tan. Rattler and St Margaret were given half pace work, whilst Pretoria and Smith’s' chestnut pony did two rounds, finishing up thelast couple of furlongs strongly. Clansman and. Mara were given three-quarter pace work on the tan with a finishing spurt on the grass. Cavaliero' and Zealous in company went once round at a fast pace on the tan. St Elmo also went a rpund on the tan. Record Reign, accompanied by Mupv Delaval for the first part of the journey and , assisted home by La Glori*, galloped a strong ' mile and a-balf on the tan. St Amy, Winsome,Woodcock, and Paul Seaton did steady work.Bacchus and St Elyn went a mile at threequarter pace. First Whisper worked over a a couple of rounds at half pice, finishing fast. Knight of Athol cantered once round, and,.then did a fast once round. Balbirnie alsq did a ' round at slow pace, and then finished up with a, fast circuit. The Master was schooled over the small sticks in the middle of the course, jumping ‘ well Coronet, Minerve, Hohoro, I’apaka, Liberty. Sly Miss, and Dayntree all did slow work. St Peter and St Ursula were worked on , the g-ass, each finishing up the last part of their tasks at a good three-quarter pace. Mimoa ran onc,e round on the tan. Blossom on the tan was extended two rounds, finishing up fast. Toroa was sent a round on the tan slow, and then with 4 the assistance of Begulus did a round at a good three-quarter pace. October 9th. The morning was fine and the track good. No brilliant galloping, however, was done, trainers confining their charges to slow and half-pace work. Record Reign was out, and went three rounds on the tan, trotting and cantering the whole way. He pulled up sound and there was no appearance of soreness about him. Coronet, • Cavaliero, Knight of Athol, Woodcock, Bacchus, St Elyn, Toroa, Regulus, Mara, Lena, Mamoa, Minerve, Sultan and others did half pace work.
