TARANAKI.
THE WANGANUI MEETING - ANTICIPA-TIONS-THE MINERVA II CASENew Plymouth, Sept. 24 G. Wright arrived here to-day with Rosella, Lmtitia, Hastings and Beddingtou, and went on by the evening train to Wanganui. Great interest is being taken in the Wanganui Spring Meeting, and there is every prospect of a successful re-union. Without the acceptances being in, my fancies are: Spring Handicap, Scottish Minstrel or Bush Bose; Hurdles, Hauriri or Light ; Flying Handicap, Tommy Atkins or Sentry ; Trial Hack, Tukapa or Mamaku ; Second Hack Flat, Lubra or Gipsy Queen; Hack Hurdles, Wharangi or Blueberry. There is a prospect of a good race for the Guineas. Formosan, Cannie Chiel and Beddington are looked upon as sure starters. I think the winner should come from the trio, and the race may result in the above order. The Taranaki Metropolitan Club have appealed against the decision in the matter of Minerva 11. The stallion parade held hare last Saturday was a poor affair. There does not seem to be much interest taken in horse breeding in North Taranaki,
