CASTASHORE-GOLDLEAF TO VISIT MULTI’ FORM — CONQUEROR — FORMOSAN — TED CUTTS-GENERAL GOSSIP. Christchurch, September 4. Clifford’s mare, Goldleaf, will be the first visitor to Multiform. Conqueror and Nihilist put in a good gallop over a mile at Riccarton this morning. The Cup horse, who will fulfil his Timaru engagements, was too fast for the Stepniak horse. First Blood will be a starter at Timaru, as also will Straithnairn and Dundas. Mason is a frequent visitor to Riccarton with his team. The Derby colt Formosan and Ismene are looking in grand fettle. The vetera trainer, Ted Cutts, is suffering from a bad attack of influenza, and has been unable to attend to his work this week. Bristol pulled up slightly lame after a gallop on Saturday morning, but he now appears all right again. Mr P. Neagle rode three winners at the Amberley Meeting, Mr R. E. Harley was successful with two of his mounts, and Mr G. Stead and Mr P. Holmes each rode one winner. Long Tom, the winner of the First Hunters Hurdles at the O.J.C. National Meeting, has been purchased by J. Parkinson for £BO At the Christchurch Magistrate’s Court last week, W. Marsh pleaded guilty to a charge of having bet with a person whom he knew to be an infant, and was fined £lO and costs. J. Higgins, for a similar offence, and betting totalisator odds, was also fined £lO and costs. The ofiences took place at the National Meeting.
