AVONDALE JOCKEY CLUB’S SPUING MEETING.

Second day—Wednesday, September 20.

The second and concluding day of the Avondale Jockey Club’s Spring Meeting was almost as great a success as the first day. Some showers fell and there was a fresh breeze blowing. The racing throughout the day was very interesting to the large assemblage. During the day £5479 passed through the machine, and this, added to the receipts of the first day (£6023), makes a grand total of £11,502 for the meeting. This sum is £4350 in excess of the amount put through the machine at ast year’s Spring Meeting. The following are the results : — Handicap Hurdle Race of 50 sovs; second horse 5 sovs from the stake.
