Liquidation was got by King Cole from Realisation, by Vespasian out of Hopeful Duchess, by The Flying Dutchman, and therefore is a half-sister to Maxim, who was sold for 4000 gs. Liquidation is full-sister to Wapiti, who held the mile and a half record for New Zealand for several years, and whose progeny continue to win races. Liquidation was a good performer on the turf, and Reconstruction and Hastings —her offspring before the filly offered for sale —have b.ith won races. Hastings has proved himself to be one of the best two yearolds in the Auckland district. King Cole, the sire of Liquidation, also got the famous Nelson, Royal Rose, and many other well-known winners.
