Horses to take their age from the Ist of August. No Entries will be received for any race except on this condition —That all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or those whom they may appoint. Their decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of this programme shall be final. No Nomination or Acceptance will be received on any pretence whatever after the hour named, or without being accompanied by the necessary amount of cash. The attention of owners is particularly called to this regulation. All Entries to be sealed and addressed to the Secretary, Devonport, or at Mr W. Blomfield’s Office, Durham Street East, Auckland, entrance money enclosed, with the name, age at time of entry, pedigree, and, in case of handicaps where horses have not previously started on the Takapuna course, performance of the horse, name of the owner, and colors of the rider. The Club reserves the right to alter the programme and dates of fixtures, etc. Five per cent, deducted from winnings. PROGRAMME. FIRST DAY—WEDNESDAY, 24th MAY (QUEEN’S BIRTHDAY). Flying Stakes, a handicap of 70 sovs ; second horse to receive 10 sovs from the stake. Distance, six furlongs. Nomination, 1 sov ; acceptance, 1 sov. —To start at 12 noon. Wanganui Steeplechase, a handicap of 300 sovs; second horse to receive 30 sovs, and the thiid horse 10 sovs from the stake. Over the Wanganui Steeplechase course, about three miles. Winner of any Handicap Steeplechase of the value of 100 sovs, after declaration of weights, to carry a penalty of 71b. Nomination, 1 sov; acceptance, 3 sovs.—To start at 12.45 p.m. Hunters’ Steeplechase, a handicap of 50 sovs ; second horse to receive 10 sovs from the stoke. Open to all qualified hunters; vide Qualification for Hunters. About three miles, over such course as the Stewards may direct. Gentlemen riders. Lowest weight not under list. Nomination, 1 sov ; acceptance, 1 sov.— To start at 1.45 p.m. First Handicap Hurdle Race of 100 sovs ; second horse to receive 15 sovs from the stake. About two miles and a distance, over seven flights of hurdles 3ft 6in in height. Nomination, 1 sov ; acceptance, 1 sov. —To start at 2 30 p.m. First Hack Hurdle Handicap of 60 sovs; second horse to receive 10 sovs from the stake.
