AUCKLAND COURSING CLUB’S AUGUST MEETINGThe final meeting of the Auckland Coursing Club for the season of 1898 was commenced yesterday, under most favorable circumstances. The weather was brilliant, the attendance large, and the coursing excellent. The following are the results : — Champion Collar Stakes. First Round. Mr H. Hertz, a Napier greyhound owner, ha the bad luck to lose his pup by Shylock from Primrose the other day. While out for a run it is supposed he came across a bit of poisoned meat. The i oungster bad shown a lot of promise, and as he was such an exceptionally well bred one his loss will be a severe one to his owner.
