THE AUSTRALIAN JOCKEY CLUB’S SPRING MEETING.

The Dunedin correspondent of this journal wires :—I am afraid our coursing is dying a natural death, but I hope only to ba revived again in a year or two. Such appears to be experienced by all coursing clnbs south of the line. Utir last meeting of the season commences tomorrow with Maiden and All-Aged Stakes. Only 17 entered for the former, and 8 for the Open Stake, the draw for which took place this afternoon. The following are competitors : Open Stake— Fleetwood meets Castorina, Ivanhoe 11. meets Staysail, Lillie Langtry meets Radiant, Bannockburn meets Woods’ Hotel. In the the inter-colonial football match between Queensland and New South Wales, played last Saturday at Brisbane the New South Wales team won by 26 points to 6. An association football team, representing Coromandel and Thames, will probably visit Auckland before the season is over.
