WORK AT ELLERSLIE.

There has been a transformation scene at Ellerslie. It is only a few weeks since the country was as brown as a berry, while the racing and training tracks threatened destruction to the feet of the thoroughbred. The recent rains, however, have altered all that, and Ellerslie is covered with a luxuriant coat of green, while the tracks are almost too soft. The following are the names of the horses now in work, together with the names of the trainers : —
