OFFICIAL NOTICE.

We have received the following official notice from the secretary of the North Island Trotting Association :— “At a meeting of the association, held last evening (Jan. 4th), to decide which club is entitled to race on January 21st, Johnsonville or Wellington, it was resolved that the president be instructed to ask the Colonial Secretary to grant a totalisator permit to the Wellington Club for January 19th and 23rd, and to the Johnsonville Club for January 21st. I was also instructed to publish in our official paper the following disqualifications, which have been endorsed by the association : Disqualified by the Johnsonville Trotting Club, John Flanagan, for life, for grossly insulting language to the stewards. Disqualified by the Johnsonville Trotting Club, James Pettie, during the pleasure of the club, foi' the use of insulting and abusive language to Mr Alfred Elbourne, the official handicapper to the club. Disqualified by the Hawke’s Bay T.C., Amos Clegg and the brown mare Fiona, for ever, for trotting the mare under the name of Clive. The above were endorsed on September 29th, 1896. With regard to the removal of the disqualification by the Otahuhu T.C. from P. O. Carr, this will be endorsed at the next meeting.—Yours faithfully, C. 0. Miles, Secretary.”
