COURSING.
[by
SLIP.]
Shylock is such a true shaped greyhound, and such an excellent performer, that we offer no excuse for reproducing his picture this week, after defeating Lucks All at the Auckland August Coursing Meeting. We are also pleased to be able to congratulate the gentlemen who own the sori of Padlock and Spruce in retrieving some of their early season losses.
A recent purchase made by Mr Martin Taylor is Omega, by Last Request —Waitangi.
At the coursing meeting at Parkes (N.S.W.) the club ran short of hares, and a postponememt for two days had to be arranged.
On Saturday last, the Hawke’s Bay Coursing Club received eighteen acceptances for the Ladles’ Bracelet, and twelve for the National Challenge Stakes. These stakes will be decided on the 9th and 12th inst. The draw takes place on the sth inst.
