OUR TREBLE COUPON.

Our treble coupon on the Takapuna Birthday Handicap, Grand National Hurdle Race and Great Northern Steeplechase closed with 758 coupons, on Thursday night last. Strange to say Pegasus was not fancied at all until the last fortnight, when it was whispered that he was doing good work, and then only a few stray coupons with Pegasus selected for the Birthday Handicap were sent in, and by a strange coincidence I frequently remarked to the proprietors of this paper that if Pegasus wins no one will have picked him, but in the last two weeks he found a few friends. Lady Agnes, who ran second, was not much fancied either, but St. Kilda was mentioned in nearly every other coupon.
