Our Illustrations;
This week we have reproduced some photographs taken at the " Victorian Racing Club’s Autumn Meeting. The three horses are Cabin Boy, Maluma, and Idolater. The finishes for the St. Leger, Australian Cup, and Champion Race, in which the Carbine colt Wallace scored a deadbeat and two seconds, will be particularly interesting to New Zealanders. The picture of the finish for the St. Leger, proves what a mistake was made by the rider of Wallace in keeping him back to Waterfall, while the latter’s stable companion, Pilot Boy, was gaining a long lead, which he was able to maintain to the finish.
