Railway Stakes of 100 sovs, six furlongs.— Moira, Popgun, Torpina, Brooklet, The Brook, Orion’s Belt, Searchlight, Bonnie Scotland, Bessie McCarthy, Pompom, Stepfeldt, Acone, Black and Red, Doris, Solitaire, Daring, King’s Bowman, The Workman, Gipsy Grand, Bisley, Flying Shot, St. Regel.
The Castor —Nvmph colt, Orion, is named after a giant hunter, noted for his beauty. He was blinded by (Enopion, but Vulcan sent Cedalion to be his guide, and his sight was restored by exposing his eyeballs to the sun. Being slain by Diana, he was made one of the constellations, and is-supposed to be attended with stormy weather.
