Sir George soon drew out from a fair start, and led Engineer past the half-mile, with Form, Creme d’Or, True Blue, and Beau Seant. The last werv Memoir and Fort. As they rounded the turn there was little between Engineer, Form, and Sir George, and they came into the straight together, with Creme d’Or on the outside. True Blue got up with the leaders approaching the distance, and a good race was going on until Form and True Blue wore the others down, and True Blue, lasting longest, won by half a length, with Form three parts of a length in front of Engineer, Sir George was fourth, followed by Creme d’Or, Fort, Rebel Queen, and Ury.
