Definition of a hack.—Hack means a horse that has never won a race and is not nominated at time of start for any race, hack, hunter, and pony races excepted. All nominations, acceptances, and entries, accompanied by the necessary amounts, must be addressed to the Secretary, and left at the Secretary’s office. Brougham Street, New Plymouth, not later than 9 p.m. on the advertised dates of closing. Full particulars of colours, age, and pedigree must be forwarded with the nominations. In all cases where penalties have to be carried for winning, it shall be the duty of the owner, trainer, or jockey to notify the Secretary on or before Tuesday, February 19th, 1895. Five per cent, will be deducted from all winnings towards the expenses of the course. Horses walking over will receive fifty per cent, of the stakes. All races to be run under the Rules of Racing as adopted by the Metropolitan Clubs of New Zealand.
