PAKURANGA HUNT CLUB.
The nominations received in connection with the annual meeting of the Pakuranga Hunt Club show a falling off compared with the returns for last year’s gathering. Then the entries totalled 101; for the meeting to be held on the 20th inst. the nominations received number 85. In the open events there is an all-round falling off with the exception of the Open Handicap for which two more entries have been received than was the case last year, but the Flying Handicap and Open Hurdles each show three nominations less, and the Pony Handicap has five less. In the close events the Hunt Club Cup has two more entries than last year but there is a falling off of three entries in the Ladies’ Bracelet and one in the Tallyho Steeplechase, and a decrease of five appears in connection with the Members’ Hurdle race. The weights appear in another column, but as acceptances are due to-morrow at 9 p.m. I shall defer dealing with the weighting until next week.
