WAITARA JOCKEY CLUB.

The annual meeting of the above club was held in the Waitara Hotel, Waitara, last week. There was a good attendance of members, and Mr Newsham occupied the chair. The balance-sheet presented by the secretary showed a credit balance of about £3O, with outstanding amounts totalling about £l3. The balance-sheet was read and adopted. The following office-bearers were elected for the ensuing year :—President, Mr C. M. Lepper (re-elected); vice-president, Mr C. Newsham (re-elected); judge, Mr G. V. Tate; starter, Mr J. Finnerty; clerk of the course, Mr Goddard ; handicapper, Mr J. E. Henry (re-elected); stewards, Messrs Rountree, J. Lye, W? 5 G. Glassford, L. Darnell, C. M. Lepper, C. Newsham, G. V. Tate, J. Sarten, W. McKoy, J. Thornton, P. E. Dover, and F. Atkinson ; committee, Messrs C. McKoy, T. Goddard, J. Armstrong, W. McKoy, G. V. Tate, J. Sarten, P. E. Dover, J. Thornton, A. C. Harvey, Rountree, and J. Finnerty; course committee, Messrs J. Finnerty, C. McCoy, J. Goodwin, G. V. Tate, T. Goddard. Messrs J. Finnerty, W. McKoy and G. V. Tate were appointed a committee to draw up a programme for submission to a general meeting of members. It was resolved that the sum of 15s, training fees, be refunded to Mr W. McKoy. It was also decided that in future the training fee be 5 s for every horse, such fee to be spent on the training track, and be payable in advance. Resolved that Mr Clare’s account, £1 16s, be passed for payment, and also a bonus of £5 be awarded to the secretary. The proceedings then terminated.
