WIRE.]
August 14 th. The annual meeting of the Napier Park Racing Club was held to-day. The balance-sheet, which was of a very satisfactory nature, showed that a profit of £938 18s had been made on the season’s racing. The totalisator tax amounted to £360 15s 4d. The profit is a decrease on that of the previous year principally owing to the Autumn Meeting being held the day of the licensing election and just subsequent to several other race meetings. The following office bearers were elected :—President, Mr J. Close; vicepresident, Mr John Heslop; treasurer, Mr E. W. Knowles; stewards, Messrs G. H. Swan, T. Sidey, D. Glendinning, J. McVay, J. G. Swan, W. Heslop, F. GK; Smith, J. Bennett and R. Sweetapple. Mr McVay briefly referred to the doings of the late conference, and was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for his services aS delegate.
