TATTERSALL’S TOURNAMENT. \ The annual billiard tournament in connection with Tattersall’s Club was continued during this week, and on Tuesday night the final game was played. During the progress of the tournament, the billiard room was well attended, and in the various games some very fair play was given by the competitors. The opening game brought Messrs Cruickshank and Tobias together, and the former beat his opponent by nice play. -The remaining games in the first round resulted as followsMr Blaikie beat Mr Moore ; Mr Davidson beat Mr Philpot; Mr Cooke beat Mr Hayes, and in this\ game the victor showed brilliant play; Mr Brierley beat M'r McHattie ; Mr Brimblecombe beat Mr Coombe; Mr Whiting beat Mr Fleming; Mr Ellison beat Mr Lawrence. ' In the second round Brimblecombe beat Whiting by 21 points; Brierley beat Ellison by 102 points; Tobias beat Blaikie by 42 points ; and Cooke beat Davidson by 17 points. In the third round Tobias met Brierley and won a close game by 5 points, and Cooke beat Brimblecombe in fine style by 56 points. This left Messrs Cooke and Tobias to play off for the sweepstake, and a good game, which took one hour and thirty minutes to play, saw Cooke win by 82 points.
