An Albany paper reports that a racer rejoicing in the aristocratic name of Bill won three events in succession in a manner which called forth doubts as to his identity. In his opening race Bill carried 8.12 and defeated a field of fourteen; in the second he beat eight horses under the impost of 11.5, and in the third, with 8.12; smothered his five opponents. His owner satisfied the stewards the horse was ‘ plain Bill ’ as set forth m the nomination papers, but his performances stamp him as the reverse of plain.
