Coming Events.

[By Sir

Launcelot.]

AUCKLAND TROTTING CLUB.

Few and far between are the absentees from those handicapped for the various events of this meeting, which is set down for decision at Potters’ Paddock on Saturday next. When Mr C. F. Mark, the energetic secretary, made up his lists on Friday night, it was found that there were 20 acceptors for the Maiden Trot, 13 for the Flying Handicap (for ponies), 14 for the April Handicap Trot, 12 for the Autumn Handicap (for ponies), the same number for the Harness Handicap Trot, seven for the Hurdles, and 10 for the Electric Tr?t Handicap. As among the contestants is more than one competitor outside our local circuit, greater interest will be lent to the contests, and if the weather be propitious Potter’s Paddock should be exceedingly well patronised on Saturday. Taking the events in the order in which they appear on the card, I shail make the following selections :— Maiden Trot—Dinah ; The Broker next best. Flying Handicap—Vampire, or Siwash. April Trot —Hurricane ; Midnight next best. Autumn Handicap—Dove, or Venus Victrix Harness Trot — Sparrowhawk, . but Clyde will take a lot of beating. Hurdle Handicap. —Reuben, or Little Raven. Electric Trot —Ladybird, 1 ; Coronella, 2. The first race will start at 1.30 p.m.
