On January 9 a meeting of bookmakers took place at the chief sporting resort in London with the object of considering the question of registration of bookmakers. Mr R. H. Fry was voted to the chair. After a long discussion on the subject, in which Mr Joseph Thompson took part, it was decided by 16 votes to 11 that the metallicians be not so taxed.
