THAMES JOCKEY CLUB.

That the Thames Jockey Club are not seriously affected by the Auckland Racing Club’s Meeting commencing on Boxing Day, the same as does theirs, is evidenced by the excellent entry list they received on Friday last. There is one race that has filled badly, the Novel Handicap having only attracted four entries, but the other items of the programme have filled excellently, and the Thames folk should have a better race meeting than they have had for years. The Maiden Handicap has 14 entries, the First Hurdles 9, the Thames Handicap 16, the Welter Handicap 15. the First Handicap Steeplechase 17, the Stewards’ Handicap 18, the Midsummer Handicap 22, the Thames Handicap Hurdles 10, the Goldfields Handicap 16, and the Thames Steeplechase 16. The class, too, is by no means bad. including, as it does, Tulloch, Dorothy, Ida, Vieux Rose, Ingorina, Megoulet, Hopeful Kate, Tupara, Hurricane, Slumberer, Scaltheen, The Colonel, Yum Yum, Carronade, and Daisy. The handicaps for the Maiden Plate, First Hurdles, Thames Handicap, Welter Handicap, and First Steeplechase are due to-morrow. » —
