GENERAL RULES. Application for election as a Gentleman Rider must be made to the Committee by November Ist. No person having received payment in consideration of work performed in connection wr»h the training or riding of horses shall be eligible to ride as a Gentleman Rider. No entry will be received for any race except upon the condition that all claims, disputes, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or those whom they may appoint. Their decision on all points connected with the carrying out of this programme shall-be — ——. All protests must be entered within 15 minutes of the finish of a race, and must be accompanied by a deposit of 5 sovs., which sum may be forfeited to the funds if the protest is not sustained. All nominations, entries, and acceptances, accompanied by the necessary amount in cash must be addressed to the Secretary, and left in the Racing Club’s Letter Box,; Argyll Hotel, Gisborne, not later than 8 p.m. on the advertised dates of closing. No nomination or acceptance will be received on any pretence whatever unless actually accompanied by the necessary amount payable.
