Auckland kicked off at 4.24, and at 4 27 another fine passing run ended in another try. Balch at a difficult angle made a fine shot, the ball striking the goal-post. Canterbury 9, Auckland 0. More good passing enabled Evans to score, but Garrard did not improve.
