Contemporary Criticism.

“ The Sporting Review is evidently going a-head. On the 28th tin. it appeared in an enlarged form, and with a new design on the title page of its cover. There was also considerable improvement in the arrangement of the contents. The Review has now outgrown the childhood and youth of its career, and the new dress which it now wears becomes it as the fullgrown and recognised sporting organ of the north. I have to congratulate the proprietor on the enterprise he is exhibiting in the conduct of his paper It will be seen from a telegram elsewhere that the Sporting Review has been appointed by the committee of the Auckland Racing Club, the Official Calendar {ox the Auckland district.” — “Vigilant,” N.Z. Mail. “ The Sporting Review, the northern authority on sporting matters, a useful journal, well conversant with matter pertaining to the turf, has been enlarged.” —Napier Evening News. “The Auckland Sporting Review has come out in an enlarged form, and the ng proprietor, Mr. Hayr, is to be congratulatecT on? ifs improve u appear ance. The Review is well edited, a variety of sporting topics are weekly touched upon, and it has now a large circulation throughout the colony.”— “ Buff and Black,” Napier Daily Telegraph. “ I am pleased to notice that the Auckland Racing Club has adopted the Sporting Review as the Official Calendar for all notifications published under the authority of the Club.” —“ Sir Roland,” Manukau Gazette. “ Congratulations to Auckland Sporting Review on its enlargement and improved appearance in commencing its third year of publication.”—“ Mazeppa,” Otago Witness.
