Ti/TLE TRAVEL THIS SEASON, BETWEEN THAMES AND TE AROHA, The Thoroughbred Stallion “TETFORD.” By MUSKET [imp.], dam Pungawerewere, by Golden Grape, dam Atalanta; Atalanta out of Crescent, by Sir Hercules; Golden Grape, by Barnton, full brother to Voltiguer, whose blood is so mnch sought after in England; Atalanta, by Towton, full brother to the Peer, sire of Darebin, Peeress, and other good horses, half •brother to the Marquis, the winner of the Two Thousand Guineas and St. Leger. Tetford is a full brother to Tranter, who took first prize and Champion prize in New South Wales, also first prize and Champion prize in Victoria for the best thoroughbred against all-comers. Tetford is a half-brother to St. James, who won the Dunedin Cup and lan second in the Exhibition Cup. St. ■Tames is by Leolinus out of Pungawerewere, and is a half-brother to Crackshot, who won the Wellington Cup and Auckland Cup, and who stood at the head of winners for this season in New Zealand; so all out of his dam can gallop. Tetford won Wanganui Cup, beating Waitiri, Silence, Pasha, Libeller, and other good horses; beat same horses next day in Wanganui Stakes, one mile and a half, 9st 71bs in the saddle. Won Free Handicap, one mile, Plate Handicap and Flying Handicap at Thames Meeting; won Victoria Handicap, one mile and a distance, in 1 min. 58£ secs., beating Antelope and eight others, at the Auckland Summer Meeting. Tetford should get first-class racehorses, horses fit for Indian re-mounts, or good weight-carriers, he being a very pretty horse Himself. TERMS: Single Mares, 4 guineas; two or more, 3i guineas. Tetford has been limited to sixty mares. There will be a direct boat from Auckland, which will carry horses, by Ist October. Mares sent down would be landed alongside my place. 'THOROUGHBRED STALLION, RAGLAN, (Brown horse, about 15 hands three inches, 6 years old, by Cap-a-Pie, dam Tenambra, by The Marquis. Bred by Major George.) Will serve a limited number of mares this season, and will be at the service of breeders in Auckland and district. RAGLAN started twice as a two-year-old, running second to Leopold in the Nursery Stakes. As a three-year-old he started in three races, running second to Hilda in the Auckland Guineas, and second to Tartar (6st 51b) in the Christmas Handicap. As a four-year-old he won the Maiden Plate at Otahuhu, and on the same day won the Cup. At Onehunga Spring Meeting won the Cup, carrying Bst 101 b; Auckland Spring Meeting, won the Prince of Wales Handicap, beating Leopold, Lady Norah, Leorina, and • others. Time 2.43. At the same meeting, next day, won the City .Handicap, carrying 9st, defeating Leopold Bst 51b (second), Cissy Bst 11b (third). Tune, 2.121 ■ same day, won the Welter Handicap, carrying list and defeating a field of eight. Time, 1.50. Won Jubilee Cup of 250 sovs., beating Hilda Bst 91b, Antelope and others. Time 2.42. Same day won the Flying Handicap of 100 sovs., defeating Teksum, Lochness, and others. Time, 1.19. ' TERMI: Thoroughbred mare Seven guineas. Half-bred Four guineas. Two or more as per agreement. STAND THIS SEASON. The celebrated Grey Trotting Stallion DAYLIGHT, 4 years old, by Fitzjames (imp. from America), dam Creeping Jenny (dam of the well-known trotting horse Midnight), by Dainty Ariel. DAYLIGHT stands 15 hands high, showing a good deal of quality and substance, with good all-round action. DAYLIGHT will stand at his owner’s stable, New North Road, and will travel the surrounding districts. TERMS —Three guineas a mare; two or more as per agreement.
