A. Mallinson, late of Auckland, has written an exceedingly good setting to Sir P. Sydney's quaint rhyme, "My true love hath my heart and I have his/ It will suit most voices. If another rendering of the beautiful sacred song, " Sun of my Soul," were needed, then my readers will find that of Joseph Adams worth trying. The first set of two songs by Noel Johnson is only inferior to the second set mentioned last month. I have the chance this time of recommending a quaint and pleasing song for men (bass or baritone), viz., " The Blacksmith/ by D. D. Slater, a rather ambitious "King of the Mist," by Jude, and "A Thousand
