May 29. A Dance. The United Tennis Club (late St. Augustine'*) held a very enjoyable dance in the Foresters’ Hall on Wednesday evening, when the trophies won during the season were presented to the various winners. The arrangements were well carried out, reflecting credit on the secretary (Miss W. Bishop), and the function was most successful. Pollock, navy blue suit, (purple halt with tan-coloured Jwingff Mrs Ziele, cream serge coat and skirt, black velours hat with white ostrich feathers;. Mrs. Didsbury, purple cloth gown, blaek hat with purple mount; Mrs. Herdman, navy blue tailor-made, white chip hat with blaek feathers; Mrs. Ching, navy blue -braided coat and skirt, black velours hat with shaded cerise plume; Mrs. A. O. Bussell, navy blue coat and skirt, with revers of Paisley silk, blaek felt hat with white ostrich feathers. Personal. Miss Cora Lee (Wellington) is the guest of Mrs. Cecil Cornford. Mrs. Sainsbury, of Gisborne, is staying in Napier. Airs. and Alis.s Herrick, of England, are staying in Hawke's Bay. Mrs. Handyside leaves for England in July by the Remuera. Miss Beniau is staying in Gisborne, and is the guest of Mrs. (Dr.) Singer. Mrs. Ijouisson, of Auckland, is in Napier at present. Dr. and Mrs. Hogg, of Invercargill, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Herdman, Bluff Hill. Mrs. F. C. Waterhouse, who Iras been staying in Napier for some weeks, returned to Mungawhare on Wednesday. Mra. B. A'Deane and family arrived from Taupo on Monday, and are staying at the Afasonic Hotel. Miss Livie is the guest of Airs. P. S.
