\n anuising decision was arrived it. some months ago, and to be put mt • effect- almost immediately by an Irish Rural Council that of Trim ‘in Meath It is a matter of great diflietllty in. this place, as in so many others in the I'nited Kingdom, to get working num’s cottages at anything like the only rent such men can pay, and it was pointed out t<> the Rural Council in question that a large number of their labourers’ cottages were occupied by bachelors, while married men were thus deprived of the opport unity tc secure good houses at low rents. The Council appears to have risen at once to the seriousness of the position and ordered all its unmarried men ten ants to either quit single blessedness oi their houses within a certain period! An extension of time ha* been pleaded for, hut has- l»een summarilv refused!
