CAMBRIDGE.

April 26. Vice-regal Visit. Cambridge was honoured on Friday by a visit from their Excellencies Lord and •Lady Liverpool, the occasion being the opening of the Chrysanthemum Society's Show. They were staying at Okoroire, and motored over. Upon their arrival they were met at the Town Hall by Colonel Logan and introduced to Major Walker and the Mayor-elect, Mr Mervyn Wells, who presented an address to •Lord and Lady Liverpool. They were met at the door of the Town Hall by Dr Roberts (president of the Chrysanthemum Society) and Mrs Roberts, and Tittle Betty Buckland (daughter of one of the vice-presidents) presented her Excellency with a lovely bouquet of pink and white chrysanthemums and red leaves; Mrs Roberts afterwards escorted Lady Liverpool round the show. An adjournment was made to the Council Chambers, where a dainty afternoon tea had been arranged, Mrs Roberts having decorated the room and table most artistically with autumn leaves and red chrysanthemums. The former goes to Napier; ami Lady Whitburgh amt her daughter arrive here to-day to be the guests ofi Mrs Banks, of “Gwynnelands.” who is sister-in-law to Lady Whit burgh. Mre Ring (Hinuera) has been spending . a'few days with Mrs Martyn, of “Broadmeadows.” The numerous friends of Mr and Mrs F. Ross, of “Brunton.” are sorry that they are leaving the district.
