March 18Tennis. The courts are much improved since the rain last week, and a good number of people were present last Saturday. I noticed Mrs. Edgar, Mrs. Cate, Mrs. Dinwiddie, Mrs Bradley, Misses Dinwiddie (2) Clark (2), Whitely, Smith, Cook, Ellison', Weber, Bowen, Cato, Tonkin, McVay, Moeller, Dewes. Mrs. Ziele gave a very jolly little tennis party on Tuesday afternoon. Those present were: Mrs. Ching, Mrs. Warren, Mrs. Barron, Misses Berwan (2), Hindmarsh (2), Lipscomb. Personal. Mrs. R. Sinclair (Wellington) who h.is been staying with her mother, Mrs. Hoadley, returned to ’Wellington on Satday. Tire Misses Bernau arc going to Wanganui for Easter week. They will be the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Fairburn. Mrs. Stopford has returned from her visit to the South. Mr. and Mrs. George Morris and family motored through to Wanganui this week. Mrs. McKay has returned from her visit to Masterton. Mrs. T. C. Sanderson, of Glenross, has gone to Wanganui for a fortnight. Mr. and Mrs. F. Logan, Mr. Wood-Bine Johnston, Mr. G. T. Donnelly and Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Groonie leave for England in April by the Macedonia. Mrs. von Dadelsze-n, who has been visiting Mr. and Mrs. Lowry North, Silverhope, is in Napier at present, and is staying with her son, Mr. Hermann von Dadelszen.

There is some talk of a large ball to be held in Napier in April in aid of the Society for the Health of Women and Children.

Miss G. Hunt, 8.A., recently of Dnnnevirke, has been- appointed assistant teacher to the Girt’s High School, vice Miss Dalrymple, resigned.
