February 21. Tennis. It was cold at the tennis courts on Sat'.'.rday. During the afternoon several

rounds of the Hutton Cup tournament were played. The Misses Alexander, Street, and Mclntosh provided afternoon tea. Amongst those present were:Mrs. Spenser, Mr. and Mrs. J. of Miss D. Humphreys, of Taumarunui, who is to be married early in April. The “Get-Rich-Quiek-Wallingford” Co. had a most successful one night performance at. the Opera House. Humphreys (Taumarunui) are staying in Wanganui with Mrs. Haughton. Dr. P. Marshall, of Dunedin, has been staying in Wanganui recently. Miss Towle, of Auckland, is the guest of Mrs. H. Reeve, in Wanganui. Miss Brooks, of Wanganui, has returned from her visit to Australia. Miss Bannister, of Gisborne, is staying in Wanganui with Mrs. W. Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. J. Duncan, of Wellington, have been staying in Wanganui recently. Miss O’Brien, of Wanganui, has returned from her visit to Sydney and Melbourne. Mrs. Darley, of Wanganui, who has been staying in Wellington with relations, has returned to her home. Miss Enid Heywood, of Hamilton, is staying in Wanganui with Mr. and Mrs. Meldrum. Miss Knapp, Girls’ College, Wanganui, has returned from her trip to England and the Continent. Miss G. Christie, of Wanganui, is staying in Wellington for a short visit.
