PERPETUAL FLOWERING CARNATION SOCIETY.
'At file exhibition of the Flowering Carnation Society, held on December 4th, at Westminster, the gold medal for the best group was won by Mr. C. Engelmann (Saffron Walden), who also won the challenge cup for British novelties. The American Carnation Soieiety’s challenge cup for American novelties went to Mr. H. T. Mason, who showed Dorothy Gordon, Gloriosa, and White M onder. One of the most beautiful vases in the whole show was Mr. E. Guile’s Lady Meyer, which, in addition to winning the first prize in the class for blooms of Enchantress colour, took the special prize for the best vase in the colour classes.
A very interesting display was made by Mr. R. F. Felton of exclusively British raised varieties, to which many growers contributed. It is noteworthy that all the awards made went to varieties of British origin—Mrs. A. F. Dutton (Dutton), Mary Allwood (Allwood), Baroness de Brienen (Low), and Snowstorm [{Lawrenson).
