HORTICULTURAL NOTES.

Taking Cuttings. Take cuttings from any choice pansies, antirrhinums, or penstemous. These will root readily in sandy soil if placed in the shade and kept Just moist. These plants are so easily raised from seeds that unless something extra good has been marked off for propagating, the easier plan is to sow the seeds.

Pelargoniums and Geraniums. Pelargonium and geranium cuttings should he taken now. There are many most beautiful varieties, and at this season they take root readily. How Plants are Weakened. Remove all decayed or spent flower stalks from aquilegias and delphiniums. When these are allowed to mature seed it weakens the plants.
