GREYTOWN AND LOWER VALLEY. Heavy rain for three days prior to the event, and on show-day itself, was nut a piomising start for the Grey town and Lower Valley Horticultural Society’s spring exhibition, but the number and quality of the exhibits were exceedingly creditable. The champion rose was a

line “ Frau Karl Druschki.” exhibited by Miss K. Bunny. The Buchanan rosebowl. for must points in rose, went bo Mr. A. Booth. Other prominent prizewinners in tiie rose section wore: Mr. W. J. Martin, Mr. T. Fisher, Mrs. H. AskinTaite, Mrs. 1). 11. Riddiford. and Mr. R. \V. Tate. T here w ere only 29 entries in the swebt pea section, but good blooms were shown, particularly by Misses Bunny ami Tver. The former lady won the Greytown Sweet Pea ('up for most points in sweet pea classes, with Miss T'ycr second. Mr. 11. Ke!tie’s points prize

in cut bloms (excluding roses and sweet peas), went to Miss S. Jackson with Mrs. Martin second. The decorative sections were very keenly contested, the points prize going to Mis. F. Bunny (13 points) with Mrs. Wigg (12 points) second.
