SOUTH TARANAKI.

November 30. Tennis and Croquet. Last Saturday afternoon the tennis courts and croquet lawns were crowded with players. The weather has been most unseasonable all this week, tennis and croquet being quite out of the question. Afternoon tea was given by the Misses Hunter. Some of those present were: — Mr. and Mrs. Webster. Mrs. Bennett, Mrs. doll, Mrs. T. Campbel!, Dr. and Mrs. Campbell. Mrs. Glasson, Mrs. Duflill, Mrs. and Miss Dingle, Mrs. Cardale, Mrs. Gibson. Mrs. Holder, Mrs. Sutton, Misses Short, Young (2), Baine. Nolan, Caplen • 2), Revell. McCarter. Messrs. Bridge. Whitehorn. Caplen, S-Lar, Bell, .1011, Wells, Thomson. Hanna. Personal. Mrs. and Mi-s E. Moore have returned to Hawera after a delightful holiday -pent in the South Island. Mr-. O’Callaghan has gone to Christchurch to lx- present at her sister’s marriage to Captain Wheeler. Mrs. Holder is visiting friends in Mr. and Mrs. Salmon have returned t<> Hawera after a month’s holiday spent in tl»e South. .Miss Hatrich, who has been the guest of Mrs. Maine, has returned to her home in Wanganui.
