October 5. Croquet Club Dance. The annual fancy dress dance for cliil; ulren was given by the Croquet ( lub during the yveek, in the Druids’ Hall. There was a large number of children and onlookers present, and the committee should lie g.-atitied by the result of their lurd yvork in eonneetioa with the dance. The Christ Church Ladies’ Guild opened its annual sale of work in the Shelbournc Street schoolroom this week. The opening ceremony was performed by his Lordship Bishop Sadlier, and the attendance was so large as to overcrowd the room. Good business '.was done at the various tastefully-arranged stalls, and at the afternoon-toji room. A musical programme in the evening was contributed to as follows: Song. Mr T. Campbell (Wellington) is visiting friends here. Mr T. Caw throw has returned from his visit to Australia. The team of Blenheim golfers who have played Nelson during the week includes Messrs Twomey, Reid, Riddell, Wivks, and Horton.
