ROME MAMMOTH COLLECTIONS. The enormous proportions assumed by the Titanic Relief Fund calls attention to other striking examples of the generosity of the British publie when disaster has threatened hundreds of homes with poverty and starvation. Sir William Soulsby, who has been private secretary to the Lord Mayors of London since 1875, has seen nearly £7,000,000 ’collected for various Mansion House Funds, a striking feature being the help they have afforded to sufferers from disaster abroad.
