July 6th. Bridge Party. Last Tuesday evening Airs Cleaney gave a very pleasant bridge party, and the prizes fell to: — Mrs Matthews (first), Airs. Heard; (second), and Airs Jim Wilson (third). A very enjoyable “’At Home” was given last Thursday afternoon, by the citizens of New Plymouth to bid adieu to Miss Rosina Buckman. Air Tribe, on behalf of the Mayor, made a very appropriate speech, after which a presentation was made (lovely silver toilet requisites) by the Mayoress (Mrs Browne). Also a bouquet from the citizens, by Mrs E. Gilmour. As Miss Buckman stepped forward, she was received with a round of applause, which was doubly expressed lifter her charming little speech of thanks, followed by "For She’s a Jolly Good Fellow,” and cheers.
