The Norwegian barque “Gunvor." bound to Falmouth with a cargo of nitrates went ashore near Coverack late on the night of Good Friday. She lost her way during the dense fog which hung over the Cha nnel. and could not clear the rocks. Her erew of nineteen were saved. Eighteen jumped over the vessel's bowsprit and dropped on to the rocks. but one man refused to leave for fear of being drowned. One of the officers thereupon swam out to the ship and rescued him. Heavy seas continued to Topical photo. sweep the vessel's decks during the Easter holidays.
