Feb. 5. At the Theatre. Last week we were visited by two good Williamson companies. In the early part the "Speckled Band” thrilled with its mysteries a large audience at the Opera House. Dr. and Airs. Wilson, Dr. and Airs. Stowe, Dr. and Airs. Alarsten, the Alisses AlcLennan, the Alisses Fraser, Air. and Aliss O’Brien, Airs. R. S. Abraham, Air. L. A. Afternoon Tea. Airs. O’Brien <Duke-street) entertained a party of friends at an afternoon tea on Thursday afternoon, Airs. 11. B. Irving being the guest of honour. Delicately tinted sweet peas were used in profusion for the decoration of the draw-ing-room. Airs. O’Brien was wearing a soft grey crepe de chine toilette, and Mrs. Irving mauve ninon veiled in line black chiffon, the bodice finished with lace and a large black hat with mauve flowers. Personal. Mrs. R. AlcLennan, Waituna, has 'been visiting Airs. AlcLennan, College-street. Air. and Airs. F. Nathan and little daughter have gone to the Fox ton Beach. Airs. A. McDonald and' children have returned from Plimmerton. Airs. White, Hawke’s Bay, is visiting her sister, Airs. Andrew Guy. The Alisses Alorrah have returned from a visit of some weeks to Porangahu, Hawke’s Bay. Airs. A. D. Thomp son and her sister, Aliss Wilson, have returned from a long visit to Auckland and Russell. Air. ami Airs. C. E. Waldegrave are in Wellington. Aliss Aileen AlcKnight, who has been on a long visit to relatives near Hiuiterville returned home on Wednesday. Aliss Dora Reed has returned from a trip to Canterbury. Mrs. Wilson and her baby daughter, New Plymouth, are staying with Airs. A.
