Some 70 or SO horticultural enthusiasts recently paid a visit to Mr. Henry Brett’s garden and home aC Lake Takapuna. “Te Kiteroa,’’ on the original suggestion of the Am-kland Horticultural Society. Much interest was manifested in the carnation and sweet pea beds, from which expert opinion says have been raised some of the finest blooms in the Dominion. <l> Inspecting the beds of border carnations just coming into bloom. i2> A bed of *ten weeks’ stock. <3» Bod of tree or perpetual carnations, from which blooms are obtained all the year round in Auckland. (4) Mr Satchell (Auckland Horticultural Society). Mr. G. W. Plummer (sweet pea enthusiast), and other members of the Society, comparing new varieties of sweet peas.
